I’m gonna call you Grandma too…
The boys I have in class range from ages 9 to 12 and I am lucky to have one of my Grandsons in my class. The other youngsters informed me that they would just call me Grandma too…
Each Sunday is always a surprise, for I never know how many will be coming, or when a visitor or a new member might have boys that will be in my class. The other teachers have the same surprises, so we just plan our crafts and handouts for approximately 6.
It took a couple classes for the youngsters to realize I wanted them to use their “inside voices” while they mingled until the time to start. We are using the Library as our classroom and we are right across from the auditorium and adult class, so we try to keep it down. As good as this age of boys can do! They do an excellent job..
Each lesson is accompanied by something fun that goes with the lesson, be it a game, craft, or something for them to eat. The anticipation for that unknown is once again a tool I use for them to sit and absorb the lesson.
We are growing each week here at the Beaver St. church of Christ and our future is in these youngsters!
