With all the different storms in all our lives, we must know that Jesus can still calm those storms today. The life jacket lesson was to instill in these youngsters that if we trust in him, he will give us peace on our hearts even in the middle of these storms. He doesn’t always take away all of the problems but we don’t want to not have him as our savior.
I used the life jacket to show how important it is to have one on in case of a boating accident, and what could happen if you did not have one on. A life jacket can save your life.
Our life jacket in times of trouble is Jesus. Our craft was a wooden cross that they had to put together and then envelope a life jacket around it with the message on the belt.
